Abigail Worcestor: Born: January 23rd, 1897 Died: October 25th, 1995
Isabelle Worcestor: Born: December 31st, 1898 Died: October 25th, 1995
All that is known of their history, other than what is found in their books written for children, is that their Father, Frederick, was a carpenter and artist who died in 1956 and, to keep themselves company, they began putting together stories & artwork they had worked on during their lives until they found themselves with 39 children's books and a book of 16 Tales. It is also known that Isabelle would die first, apparently from long-term heart ailments. Abigail would die, hours later, of a heart broken by the loss of her baby sister. Before letting herself go, she removed the tatted throws and candles that had covered the tops of two steamer trunks resting on each side of the door to the veranda. Inside the one on the left were packages of artworks neatly bound with the titles firmly attached. The trunk on the right had equally neat, and matching, manuscripts. The handwritten note, tied with a ribbon to the small nail that usually held the Christmas wreath (and treats of other season during the year) to the front door stated simply:
Each year, at the start of each season, please take a package from one trunk and then its "sister" from the other...Stir gently and feed the stories to children...and the ideas & things they may generate of value - to children...who can grow up and do the same...again and again...and, again like the tides.
